My Dad was always in his shop working on some project. Periodically, I would join him to work on something myself. But, most of the time I was busy playing whatever sport we were doing that day.
Living in the woods of New Hampshire since 1982, I had to become comfortable with “fixing stuff, making things, & taking care of the house”. That led to learning more about building and carpentry. I am fortunate to have many creative friends who are carpenters. They have guided me down the “Weezy Wood” path.
My friend Dan came up with the name “Weezy Wood”. It made me laugh, and the name has stuck.
We have 12 ½ acres of beautiful wooded land on a 3-mile dirt road in Orford, New Hampshire.
I source my wood from trees on our land or repurpose wood from other local sources in our community. Our land is full of Oak, Maple, and Birch trees, but I also work with Apple, Cherry, Walnut, Lilac, Spalted Yellow Birch and other species as they are available.
My serving pieces are used in restaurants in Lyme, NH, Green Bay, WI, and Montreal, QC. I also have various pieces of work in craft shops and galleries around New England.
I live in Orford, NH, with my wife, Robin, dog Jesse, and cat Saku. I enjoy nothing more than to go out into my shop, put on Vermont Public Radio, and create.
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in anything Weezy Wood related.
